As a Senior Software Engineer
, you’ll deliver complex code solutions. You’ll support the build and deployment pipeline and when necessary, diagnose / solve production support or on-call issues. You’ll contribute to overall system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, application performance and provide end-to-end support.

The Cost XP team owns CCR (Cost Change Request), H-E-B's strategic cost management application. CCR enables Procurement Partners and Suppliers to manage Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), Procurement Income (PI), supplier negotiations, tariffs, rebates, and other cost management workflows that directly support H-E-B's Cost Optimization and Core Business Modernization priorities.

This team is responsible for modernizing legacy cost management processes and building the future of cost management at H-E-B. Engineers on the team work closely with Product Managers, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams to deliver capabilities that improve visibility into cost drivers, simplify workflows, and support major modernization initiatives, including legacy platform retirement and adoption of H-E-B's modern cost management ecosystem.

• A Computer Science degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Proficient in multiple programming languages, technologies, and frameworks.
• Advanced knowledge in system and data architecture, data modeling, and design and capable of architecting and designing at the application or service level using well-accepted design patterns
• Able to review platform designs for strength of engineering solutions, namely performance, sustainability, and iterative development potential.
• Experience with common software engineering tools (e.g., Git, Jira, Confluence)
• Experience successfully producing consistent, high-quality results.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns, system architecture and design patterns
• Advanced understanding of development methodologies and processes
• Proficient knowledge of relevant technologies used to build modern applications and services (e.g., Angular, Type Script, NestJS, Node.js, Java, GraphQL, PostgreSQL)
• Proficient understanding of software architecture, system integration patterns, APIs, and distributed systems design.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting scalable applications deployed in cloud environments (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure).
• Proficient knowledge of data storage technologies, data modeling, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
