Senior Full Stack Developer; Python, Vue.js & GCP

Contract Duration: 12 months
Compensation: CAD $52–55/hour

Aequilibrium (AEQ) is a digital consulting and implementation company that partners with organizations to design and deliver modern technology solutions.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join our team for a 12-month client engagement focused on modernizing legacy systems and delivering scalable, secure, cloud-native digital services.

In this role, you will contribute to front-end and back-end development, API integrations, cloud infrastructure, and automated delivery pipelines. You will collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams, participate in technical design decisions, and provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to internal client teams.

• Design, develop, and maintain modern full-stack web applications using Python, Flask, Vue.js, Nuxt, JavaScript, and Type Script.

• Build responsive, accessible user interfaces using HTML5, modern CSS/SCSS, and contemporary front-end development practices.

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Python 3.13, Flask, SQL Alchemy, and Alembic.

• Design and implement event-driven integrations using GCP Pub/Sub and Cloud Events.

• Implement secure authentication and authorization using Keycloak and JWT.

• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL databases hosted on Google Cloud SQL, including schema design, migrations, and performance optimization.

• Build and deploy containerized microservices using Docker and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Implement and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions and Google Cloud Build.

• Develop automated unit and integration tests using pytest and Vitest.

• Implement and manage feature flags using Launch Darkly.

• Collaborate with product managers, architects, UX/UI designers, business analysts, and developers to deliver high-quality solutions.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical discussions, code reviews, and architecture planning.

• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge transfer to internal development teams.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including API specifications, deployment procedures, and development guidelines.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience , including hands-on full-stack development.

• Strong experience with Python and Flask for backend application development.

• Hands-on experience with SQL Alchemy and Alembic for database operations and migrations.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Type Script, HTML5, and modern CSS/SCSS.

• Experience with Vue 2 and Vue 3, including class components, Pinia, and Nuxt 3.

• Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs, including JSON Schema.

• Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Build.

• Experience with PostgreSQL, including data modelling, query optimization, and database migrations.

• Experience building microservices and containerized applications using Docker.

• Experience implementing automated CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions and Cloud Build.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging using GCP Pub/Sub and Cloud Events.

• Experience with authentication and authorization solutions such as Keycloak and JWT.

• Experience implementing automated testing using pytest and Vitest.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience working in Agile development environments.

• Experience with Launch Darkly or similar feature flag management platforms.

• Experience modernizing legacy applications or migrating systems to cloud-native architectures.

• Experience working on large-scale government or public-sector digital transformation projects.

• Experience with OpenAPI specifications and API-first development.

• Experience providing technical mentorship and knowledge transfer to client teams.

You will contribute to a large-scale digital modernization initiative focused on replacing legacy registry systems with modern, secure, and scalable digital services.

The project leverages cloud-native architecture, microservices, modern front-end frameworks, and automated delivery practices within Google Cloud Platform.
