The Manager, Global IS & IT is a senior IT leader responsible for the stability, performance, and security of the company’s global IT infrastructure. This role assists with direction, hands‑on technical expertise, and leadership oversight for network operations, database administration, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity posture.
With accountability for four global manufacturing locations, 225+ end users, and over 50 servers across Azure and on‑premises data centers, this leader will ensure IT systems are resilient, scalable, and aligned to business priorities. The manager will assist in overseeing a small internal IT team while collaborating closely with executive IT leadership, business stakeholders, and external partners.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Infrastructure & Network Administration- Provide oversight for the company’s global network infrastructure, including VLAN, wireless, VPN, firewalls, and cloud connectivity.
- Manage Azure and data center–hosted servers to ensure high availability, performance, and patch compliance.
- Develop and implement network standards, monitoring, and capacity planning to support manufacturing operations across four global locations.
- Oversee vendor relationships for network hardware, telecom services, and managed services providers.
- Ensure disaster recovery and high‑availability solutions are in place to minimize business disruption.
- Guide the Global IT Lead in supporting end‑user technology and maintaining uptime for critical systems.
- Provide governance, oversight and hands‑on administration for company‑wide ERP (AX 2009), Power BI and other business‑critical systems.
- Ensure database integrity, security, and performance tuning, including backups, restores, and routine maintenance.
- Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for database systems.
- Manage and document policies for backup schedules, retention, and restore procedures.
- Provide hands‑on administration of the Power BI environment and reports, ensuring accuracy, performance, and accessibility for business users.
- Support the maintenance and governance of company sales quoting tools (Excel‑based workbooks) to ensure reliability and accuracy in pricing and quoting processes.
- Partner with application owners and business stakeholders to ensure databases support reporting, analytics, and operational requirements.
- Execute the company’s cybersecurity strategy, policies, and operations to safeguard intellectual property and sensitive data.
- Establish and maintain security monitoring, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and incident response processes.
- Provide oversight for RMM (Remote Monitoring & Management), MDR (Managed Detection & Response), EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response), penetration testing, and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platforms and services.
- Lead regulatory compliance initiatives and ensure alignment with best practices (NIST, CIS benchmarks, etc.).
- Oversee identity and access management, privileged account management, and multifactor authentication policies.
- Develop and enforce user awareness programs, training, and communication to reduce human‑factor risk.
- Collaborate with executive IT leadership on cybersecurity risk assessments and provide regular reporting on threat posture.
- Guide and mentor the IT team in secure practices for system configuration, patching, and data protection.
- College degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered in place of a degree
- 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with direct responsibility for network administration, database management, and cybersecurity.
- Strong technical expertise in:
- Azure cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments.
- Cybersecurity tools and frameworks (SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanning, compliance).
- Demonstrated success implementing disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup strategies.
- Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics AX or equivalent) preferred.
- Track record of leading small, multi‑functional IT teams with hands‑on involvement.
- Excellent vendor management skills with experience negotiating and managing service providers.
- Certifications such as CCNP, MCSE, CISSP, CISM, or Azure Administrator/Architect strongly preferred
