Freight/Receiving role at The Home Depot

Associates in Freight/Receiving positions ensure the store is stocked and ready for business every day. They load and unload trucks, move material from the receiving area throughout the store, may operate forklifts, and may perform critical functions for maintaining proper on-hands and pricing for our customers. Direct customer interaction is frequently required for some positions and excellent customer service skills are required.

The Freight/Receiving roles may include Freight Team Associate, Freight Team Lead, Receiving Associate and Receiving Support.

• Load and unload trucks and move materials from the receiving area throughout the store.
• Keep stock levels accurate and ensure pricing and on-hands are maintained for customers.
• Operate forklifts if required and safe to do so.
• Provide direct customer interaction and deliver excellent customer service where applicable.
• Support various freight and receiving functions as part of the team (e.g., Freight Team Associate, Freight Team Lead, Receiving Associate, Receiving Support).

• Ability to interact with customers and provide quality service.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading and stocking.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and operate equipment as trained (where applicable).
