The Changeover Technician is responsible for performing activities of material blending, hopper filling, and equipment cleaning while also performing mold set‑up/pulls, initiating process dial‑in on new starts, troubleshooting plastic injection molding defects, and ensuring the machines are running according to documented processing specifications. The technician is further involved in troubleshooting, process optimization, monitoring, and setting up auxiliary equipment and injection molding presses, supporting continuous improvement, and maintaining a culture of safety and quality in accordance with the company’s core values.

• Places raw material into hoppers.
• Removes material from hoppers and repacks it into containers for the next operation.
• Checks material mix sheet and/or the IQMS work order for blending and material quantity information.
• Verifies lot numbers and mix ratios for colorants, virgin and regrind materials.
• Performs electronic and physical movement of material with the Scan Gun and to/from the press according to the set‑up schedule and IQMS.
• Verifies all material tubs, bins, and dryers have proper paperwork.
• Uses IQMS to perform proper labeling and material movement.
• Follows filling schedule as required on material mix sheet.
• Records material information to control regrind and virgin material quantity.
• Cleans up spilled material around grinders, material bins, and dryers.
• Empties grinder bins.
• Responsible for cleaning equipment and removing garbage.

• Performs mold changeover: pulling, setup, verification for plastic molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Cleans inside and around the press to remove all evidence of the previous job and any unnecessary equipment.
• Completes startup activities and verifies equipment parameters.
• Configures equipment to contain parts as they exit the mold (e.g., screens, diverters).

• Performs minor maintenance on molds as needed.
• Maintains production records related to job responsibilities.
• Adjusts parameters or production conditions to resolve quality or production issues.
• Starts up and runs injection molding process applications on various OEM and tonnage presses, using 2‑ and 3‑stage and decoupled processing techniques.
• Runs vertical, horizontal, rotational, overlay molding machines and processes multiple core‑pull/multiple cavity tooling.
• Uses hot‑runner processing, valve‑gated tooling as required.
• Partners with Quality and other departments to meet customer‑specified requirements for end products.
• Ensures molded components meet all product quality criteria including dimensional and attribute requirements.
• Sets up, programs, operates, and maintains all Servo Robotics (3‑axis) and end‑of‑arm tooling (EOAT) in partnership with Automation and Engineering.
• Monitors and reduces process variation in partnership with execution departments.
• Engages in hands‑on troubleshooting and process improvement through scientific injection molding techniques and root‑cause elimination.

• Confers with supervisors and partner departments to coordinate activities and execute scheduled priorities.
• Performs cross‑training activities in Inspection, Quality, Tooling as required.
• Enters downtime data into IQMS and views schedules/work orders.
• Assists co‑workers in solving problems and supports troubleshooting.
• Communicates issues via appropriate channels and provides feedback to tooling, maintenance, and technical departments.
• Maintains a clean workspace through basic housekeeping duties.
• Works with a safety‑conscious mindset; follows company safety policies and procedures.
• Observes shift‑supervisor notifications for mold defects, machine issues, and safety concerns.
