Base pay range

$16.00/hr – $18.00/hr

Responsibilities
  • Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Register sales on assigned cash register and provide courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
  • Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
  • Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
  • Recommend items for sale, including trade‑ups and companion items, and assist customers in locating products.
  • Maintain counters and shelves clean, merchandised, and inventory accurate; check in and price merchandise as directed by store or shift leaders.
  • Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager, including pharmacy system use, prescription filling, counting and pouring pharmaceuticals, verifying medication accuracy, and checking for interactions.
  • Report prescription errors immediately to pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policy.
  • Handle telephone calls not requiring pharmacist attention, including those to physicians.
  • Process manual claims for third‑party program prescription services promptly and perform related clerical duties as assigned.
  • Support inventory management activities in the Pharmacy Department, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and file claims for warehouse overages or shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws for regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
  • Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise, and complete resets and revisions as directed.
  • Assist with separation and placement of food items and manage stock rotation using FIFO.
  • Operate store systems and equipment effectively.
  • Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print, and creative machine services.
  • Handle web pick‑up responsibilities, monitoring orders and delivering items to customers as they arrive.
  • Assist exterior and interior maintenance to maintain a clean, neat, orderly store condition.
  • Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or required state certification/registration.
  • Attend training and complete PPLs requested by manager or assigned by corporate, acquiring continuing education credits and maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy.
Basic Qualifications
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Approximately six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
  • Good computer skills.
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.
  • PTCB certification.
