Dermatologist

Vail Health-Colorado Mountain Medical is seeking a board-certified dermatologist to join our team in beautiful Avon, Colorado. The ideal candidate should have experience in general dermatology, with an interest in championing service line growth. The dermatologist will provide comprehensive dermatologic services as an independent healthcare provider.

• Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.
• Prescribes or administers pharmaceuticals, other medications, immunizations, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
• Provides health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
• Monitors patients' conditions and progress, re-evaluating treatments, and explains procedures and test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
• Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
• May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
• Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
• Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
• Participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs as appropriate to the position.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

• Ensures HIPAA compliance.

• Board certification or eligibility in dermatology and/or dermatopathology.
• Medical doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience, including residency in a directly related medical specialty.
• Federal DEA certification:
  Medical Specialty License or Certification, Board Certified or Board eligible in a specified area of medical specialty.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, and complete online benefits enrollment.
• Working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking.
