Job Description

The Nordic instructor works closely with the Senior Manager of Experiential Learning to implement Nordic skiing in our Elementary after school (Pwr Hrs) programs.

This position requires working on-site at the schools we serve, managing and setting up equipment, assisting students with putting on Nordic gear, guiding/teaching students on how to Nordic ski, and monitoring students to ensure safety standards.

This position runs January – March, excluding Eagle County School District closures, approximately 2:30 – 6:00 pm Monday – Thursday.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager of Experiential Learning to implement Nordic skiing in our Elementary after school (Pwr Hrs) programs.
  • Manage and set up equipment.
  • Assist students with putting on Nordic gear.
  • Guide and teach students how to Nordic ski.
  • Monitor students to ensure safety standards.
  • Help students back on their feet when they fall.
  • Engage with students and have fun.
  • Active supervision and program management.
  • Remain consistently mindful and adaptive to physical, cultural, and linguistic differences.
  • Serve as a role‑model and mentor.
  • Responsible for students' safety.
  • Nurture appropriate trusted adult relationships.
  • On-site communication with site coordinator and instructor.
  • Positively represent Youth Power
    365 in the community.
