Endoscopy Technician

Overview

The Indiana Endoscopy Center is an outpatient surgery center located at West Hospital in Avon, Indiana. The surgery center has three fully equipped, technologically advanced procedure rooms where Endoscopists perform gastroenterology procedures including colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy.

This is a PRN position.

Endoscopy Technicians provide service and support before, during and after endoscopic procedures. They ensure the presence and proper arrangement of equipment and supplies in the endoscopy room prior to each procedure, assist the physician during the endoscopic procedure as allowed by professional and legal standards, clean the endoscope after the procedure, and expedite room turnover. They also provide basic care and some diagnostic tests, and are responsible for maintaining the endoscopic equipment and supply inventory.

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Current certification as a CNA, CRCST, CER, or CST is preferred.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Knowledge of various endoscopic procedures and previous experience preferred.
• Requires knowledge of name and function of various endoscopes and related endoscopic equipment.
