The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.
Develops solutions to a wide range of technical problems. Guides successful completion of projects as required. Applies extensive expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines
Key Responsibilities- Meets discrete goals within established criteria (time, cost, quality), and makes resource allocation decisions
- Provides feedback and coaching to others
- Develops and delivers training as required
- Maintains and ensures confidentiality of information/ materials
- Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
- Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects
- Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects to internal and/or external customers
- Bachelors Degree in related field
- Considerable job content knowledge
- Successful track record of performance in chosen field
