Parts Back Counter
Primary Responsibilities:
The Parts Back Counter is expected to:
- Protect the legal, financial and moral wellbeing of the Larry H. Miller Automotive Group.
- Achieve sales and gross profit goals to develop business while sustaining customer satisfaction standards.
- Seek ways to improve business operation efficiencies and customer service.
- Be a teacher to support the efforts of other employees to be successful.
Reports to:
Parts Manager
Essential Job Functions:
More than 50% of time spent requisitioning, stocking, and dispensing parts, making sales, obtaining orders.
1. Maximize Production, Customer Service and Profitability.
- Effectively communicate with Technicians and outside-customers to ensure the correct part(s) are ordered.
- Identify and assist customer needs and sales opportunities to meet company standards.
- Efficiently communicate with clientele regarding invoices and payments.
- Review service repair orders and invoices with Technicians for proper completion and calculations.
- Display seasonal parts and accessories to achieve maximum marketing exposure.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times and adhere to all OSHA/EPA requirements.
- Assist in accurately and timely processing customer payments.
- Perform all other job duties as requested by management.
2. Operate with Integrity
- Demand the highest ethical standards from self and others.
- Maintain composure within the workplace as well as outside the workplace when interacting or representing the Larry H. Miller Automotive Group.
- Set an example of positive attitude and professionalism, including a neat, orderly and safe work environment.
Physical Demands:
- Work performed in a dealership setting due to the necessity to work in person with employees, customers and vendors.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, tools or controls, and move about facilities.
- Required vision includes close, distance, peripheral and the ability to adjust focus.
- Required to lift up to a minimum of 50lbs.
- Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes, chemicals and adhesives.
- Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by department supervisor/manager.
- In general, this position is assigned regular business hours; however, it is typical to work more than 40 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Experience: 1+ years’ experience in an automotive Parts Department preferred; 1+ years’ sales experience preferred.
- Certifications: Maintain valid driver’s license and MVR record within company policy requirements.
- Skills: Active Learning, Learning Strategies, Communication, Social Perceptiveness, Critical Thinking, Resolving Conflicts and Negotiating with others.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of Larry H. Miller Automotive Group’s current company management systems desirable;
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required.
