Job Summary

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring an English Residential Faculty. This position will teach at least five classes each semester with an expectation of teaching composition. Classes could be a mix of in‑person, online, or hybrid format in 16‑week and 8‑week lengths. This position will begin August 2026.

Additional Information

Final in‑person interviews with administration will be conducted on March 6, 2026. This position is for Fall 2026.

Essential Functions

Instruction

• Provides inclusive English instruction that fosters critical thinking and lifelong learning.
• Engages students with various backgrounds and learning needs through varied, meaningful, and student‑centered teaching methods.
• Uses a variety of assessment methods and learning outcomes to evaluate knowledge of subject matter and monitors student progress through the timely preparation and grading of papers/projects.
• Maintains consistent office hours to support student success and offer guidance that aligns with individual academic goals.

Course Development

• Designs and develops course materials, curricula, and syllabi that support student growth and continuous improvement.
• Incorporates feedback and innovative, current practices to ensure course content aligns with students' needs, interests, and goals, promoting equitable access to educational success.
