IMS Care Center is a physician-led organization based in Phoenix with a team of 500 employees. The Cardiac Device Technician role is located at the Cardiology clinic in Avondale. The Cardiac Device Technician serves as a patient educator, care coordinator, system navigator, and patient advocate to improve the cardiac experience for device patients. The role provides professional clinical management of device patients under the direction of Electrophysiology Physicians and other healthcare providers, including device interrogations, programming of pacemakers, ICDs, loop recorders, remote transmissions, scanning, and reporting on Holter monitors.
Responsibilities- Maintains device check schedules and coordinates required clinic visits
- Maintains and coordinates all device transmissions across systems
- Analyzes device transmissions and documents reports
- Troubleshoots transmissions process when readings are insufficient
- Orders and maintains equipment to establish transmission processes
- Educates patients about device-related needs
- Ensures patient compliance with device follow-up and education
- Keeps up with recalls and advisories from vendor companies
- Communicates with vendor tech services and physicians when concerns arise
- Identifies device patients lost in the system and re-engages them
- Assists other clinical staff with patient care and visit coordination
- Participates in process improvement programs as assigned
- At least three (3) years of cardiology experience; one (1) year in EP or cardiac device interrogation/programming/remote follow-up preferred
- Certification from a cardiac device program (ATI) or company (Abbott, Biotronik, Boston Scientific, Medtronic) preferred
- Medical Assistant certification/diploma required
- Spanish speaking required

Qualifications RequiredHigh School or better.
PreferredTechnical/other training or better in Other. Certification from a cardiac device program (ATI) or company (Abbott, Biotronik, Boston Scientific, Medtronic) is preferred. Three (3) years of cardiology experience with one (1) year in EP or cardiac device interrogation/programming/remote follow-up is preferred.
