An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cost Controller to join a leading project controls function in Avonmouth, Bristol. This high-impact role is responsible for delivering integrated cost reporting across a diverse portfolio of projects, while continuously refining the tools and processes that underpin successful delivery.
Based in Avonmouth, Bristol, the Cost Controller will own the cost control sub-discipline, setting standards, designing templates, and ensuring consistency across all projects. Acting as the subject matter expert, they will engage with other project controls disciplines to create integrated solutions and provide guidance on complex cost queries.
Key duties for the Cost Controller in Avonmouth, Bristol include:

* Setting cost control standards and procedures for all projects.

* Developing and maintaining tools, templates, and best practices.

* Monitoring compliance, identifying deviations, and driving improvements.

* Managing and structuring SAP project data to meet business requirements.

* Producing accurate cost reports, delivering enhanced analysis, and advising senior managers.

* Leading estimate development for tenders and maintaining key cost databases.

* Providing expert training and coaching to upskill staff across multiple teams.
The successful candidate will be a confident leader with strong analytical skills, capable of working autonomously and reporting directly to the Head of Project Controls. An entrant to the role will typically have at least four years of relevant experience, including significant time on large-scale projects and within a centralised PMO function. An established Cost Controller in Avonmouth, Bristol will bring six or more years’ experience, with proven expertise in cost control, management of junior staff, and a track record of delivering high-quality portfolio reporting.

* APMG Project Planning & Controls (PPC) Practitioner

* APMG Earned Value Management Foundation

* ECITB Introduction to Estimating

* APM Project Fundamentals Qualification

* APM Associate Membership
Desirable qualifications include full APM Membership and ECITB Estimating Methodology and Practice.
