Project Manager – Highways & Structures

An established civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of small highways and structures projects across Somerset and South Bristol.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys managing multiple schemes simultaneously, working closely with site teams, clients, and supply chain partners to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

* Managing several small-scale highways and structures projects from pre-construction through to completion

* Planning, programming, and coordinating site activities

* Overseeing health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance

* Managing budgets, forecasts, and cost control

* Liaising with clients, local authorities, subcontractors, and internal teams

* Supporting site teams and resolving technical or delivery challenges

About You

* Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering

* Background in highways, structures, or general infrastructure works

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects

* Good commercial awareness and contract management experience

* Excellent communication and leadership skills

* SMSTS, CSCS, and a relevant civil engineering qualification preferred
