Scania GB are offering a conversion programme to Technicians from the Light vehicle, Plant or Agricultural sector.

This is an exciting opportunity for those looking to convert their current skills and train to become a Scania HGV Technician.

This programme will be a mixture of on-site mentoring and bespoke training at our brand-new Scania UK Learning Academy. Whilst on site, you will be partnered with experienced Scania technicians and be allocated a mentor to observe and shadow. Whilst at the Scania UK Learning Academy, you will benefit from bespoke Scania training covering 6 key modules spanning from industry and Scania product knowledge through to maintenance and inspection theory, delivered by our own in-house training experts whilst getting hands on with our product.

We will provide you with all the tools and knowledge you need to succeed, with an opportunity to gain an industry recognised IRTEC qualification and a Scania Roadside Assistance qualification.

But please don’t just take our word for it… meet Ricky and Joe who joined us from the Light vehicle sector:

“Making the switch from cars to HGV and stepping into Scania from a related industry has been incredibly rewarding and I enjoyed a warm welcome. I've relished the chance to upskill, receive specialised training, and seamlessly apply my transferable skills. Being embraced by this team feels like finding my professional home. With boundless opportunities for career progression ahead, I'm eager to dive in and see where this journey takes me.”

“This programme is allowing me to apply my transferable skills and experience to date whilst learning new ones and has transformed my career path. I’m excited for my future here.  Since joining Scania, I have only had one regret, I didn’t start sooner!”

To join this program, you will have:

• The desire to utilise your current experience, to convert to the Heavy Vehicle industry

• An apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (NVQ Lv3 or equivalent may be considered)

• A minimum of 3 years hands on mechanical experience.

If you feel this role and opportunity is for you and you wish to begin a new chapter of your career in 2026, please apply today
