Teacher of History (Maternity Cover)

Hours: Part-time, 0.6 FTE
Contract: Maternity Cover, September 2026 - March 2027
We are seeking to appoint a passionate, dedicated and motivated Teacher of History with excellent subject knowledge. You will combine academic knowledge and achievement with a passion for the subject to boost learning outcomes.
Job OverviewYou’ll inspire students to achieve their full potential in the subject, using a passion for language to deliver high quality and engaging, interactive lessons that boost both written and spoken capabilities of students. A focus on learning and assessment and wider curriculum requirements is key, as well as the ability to utilise your knowledge to positively impact progress within the subject.
RequiredExperience
- Qualified Teacher Status (suitable for an ECT) or equivalent qualification
- Ability to teach History and/or Politics to GCSE and A-Level
- Evidence of reflective practice and willingness to learn and develop
- Secure ability in IT and ability to learn new skills as part of blended learning approach
- A genuine enjoyment of the subject and teaching young people
- A commitment to a pastoral role as a form tutor
- A willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities
- Scholarship – demonstrating a love of learning, using research / wider reading to further knowledge and skills as a teacher
- Service – commitment to improving opportunities and bettering lives of others in our community
- Humility – understanding that none of us is perfect and by thinking of others we can improve ourselves
