Teaching Personnel is recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Key Stage 2 (KS2) Teaching Assistants to work in primary schools across Axminster and the surrounding areas from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy supporting children in Years 3-6, helping them build confidence, develop key skills, and achieve their full potential. Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant or looking to gain valuable school-based experience, we would love to hear from you.

We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available.

Position

Position: KS2 Teaching Assistant
Location: Axminster and surrounding areas
Start Date: September
Pay: Competitive weekly pay (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Flexible supply, short-term, long-term, full-time and part-time opportunities available
Term Time Only

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inspiring KS2 lessons.
  • Working with pupils in Years 3-6 on a 1:1 basis or in small intervention groups.
  • Helping children develop confidence in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.
  • Supporting pupils to prepare for end-of-key-stage assessments where appropriate.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and active classroom participation.
  • Assisting with classroom preparation, displays, and learning resources.
  • Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs and abilities.
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every child can succeed.
  • Have experience working with children or young people (school experience desirable).
  • Have experience supporting primary-aged pupils, particularly within KS2 (desirable).
  • Are patient, positive, and enthusiastic about education.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Are passionate about helping children achieve their potential.
  • Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Are reliable, adaptable, and committed to supporting pupils' academic and personal development.
