Position Summary:

Massachusetts Ready Mix is seeking an experienced and driven Outside Sales Representative to help grow our footprint in the ready-mix concrete market. This position is responsible for developing strong, long-term customer relationships, identifying project opportunities, and supporting our clients with product knowledge and technical guidance. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in the field, have a strong understanding of the concrete industry, and be able to represent MRM with professionalism and credibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and sell ready-mix concrete to commercial, residential, municipal, and infrastructure customers.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular site visits and office meetings.
  • Understand the full range of MRM’s concrete mix offerings and advise customers on appropriate mix selections based on project needs.
  • Collaborate closely with dispatch, QC, and operations to ensure smooth order fulfillment and high customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a technical resource for clients on concrete performance, specifications, and placement best practices.
  • Track construction activity in the region and pursue new project opportunities.
  • Participate in pre-pour meetings and maintain communication throughout project execution.
  • Maintain accurate records of bid and sales activity, client communication, and project updates.
  • Identify and help resolve service, quality, or scheduling issues in real-time.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of sales experience, preferably in ready-mix concrete, construction materials or similar.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on relationship-building.
  • Technical knowledge of concrete, including mix design basics, performance characteristics, and placement considerations.
  • Self-sufficient with the ability to work independently and manage a mobile schedule.
  • Familiarity with construction sites, contractors, and project planning processes.
  • Comfortable using basic tech tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
