We’re looking for an ambitious, energetic & attention-detailed person to join our Income Team within Finance. You’ll combine work-based training along with achieving a Level 3 Advanced qualification in AAT.
Working for one of the largest employers in the County, you will gain Finance, Systems and Communications skills as well as experience of working as part of a large finance function serving the residents of Buckinghamshire.

The Income Team are responsible for ensuring that income received from our customers is correctly distributed across the organisation. We deal with large volumes of transactions daily, with a real emphasis on accuracy and efficiency across processing, maintenance, and reconciliations.
Being a centralised Team, we assist our colleagues across all the councils’ various directorates, meaning there is a lot of variety across the various types of work that we are involved in. This provides a great opportunity to build working relationships with a large variety of colleagues across the organisation.
About the roleIn this role you’ll contribute to the work of the Income Team and study to achieve the Level 3 AAT apprenticeship throughout the duration of your time with us. We’ll give you time during your working week for study and assessments- which means no evening or weekend study is required!
You will work towards being able to undertake the range of duties listed below:
- Transactional processing across a variety of Finance Systems
- System administration & maintenance
- Banking & reconciliations
- Mailbox administration
- Communication with internal and external customers
Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

Eligibility criteria: For Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship - Qualified to Level 1 or above in Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE grades A* - C/9-4 or equivalent), or Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship Qualification.
Please note: You will not be eligible for this post if you have a degree in the same subject as this apprenticeship, or other qualifications in the same subject at an equivalent level.
Duration of Apprenticeship: Our apprenticeship roles are on a fixed term contract for the duration of the apprenticeship. Level 3 is usually for about 18 months.
Your initial apprentice salary will be £14,566 per annum for your first year, which will increase in the second year of your apprenticeship to £19,292 if you are aged 19-20, or £23,556 if you are aged 21 or above. All your training will be funded by us. As well as the salary, our apprentices are eligible to:

Reality check: This is a full-time position working a 37 hour week Monday to Friday.
The ability to converse with ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post (Code of Practice: English language requirements for public sector workers 2016)
