About us

As a Business Support Administrator, you will be at the heart of service delivery, providing the organisation, coordination and communication support that helps colleagues focus on delivering outcomes for residents.

If you are someone who enjoys being organised, building positive relationships and making things happen behind the scenes, we would love to hear from you

About the role

We are looking for organised and customer-focused administrators to support busy Council services. These roles provide essential administrative, coordination and customer service support, helping teams respond to enquiries, manage incoming work and keep services running smoothly.

Opportunities are available in:

In this position, you will provide a wide range of administrative and coordination support to programme and project teams. You will help reduce administrative pressures on delivery colleagues, enabling them to focus on achieving key outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up and coordinating meetings for projects and programmes
  • Recording actions and key decisions, ensuring accurate tracking and follow-up
  • Supporting the production and formatting of board papers and documentation
  • Managing shared mailboxes and responding to queries or directing them appropriately
  • Assisting with financial processes, including invoice administration
  • Supporting the delivery of workshops, including preparing materials and logistics

This role is key to ensuring the smooth and consistent operation of programmes that support organisational change, including Medium Term Financial Plan (MTFP) savings, demand management, and wider service improvement priorities across the Council.

Parking Services

You will handle customer enquiries, triage work received through online forms, emails and calls, and work with colleagues across Parking Services and Enforcement to support effective service delivery.

You will also help maintain website content, support the informal appeals process and build positive relationships with residents, Councillors and other stakeholders.

This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys customer contact, can manage a varied workload and is confident working with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve queries.

Street Scene and Grounds Maintenance

You will provide administrative support to Street Scene and Grounds Maintenance teams, helping frontline services manage enquiries, coordinate incoming work and complete day-to-day administration.

Key duties include handling customer and stakeholder enquiries, triaging work from online forms, emails and calls, maintaining internal communication systems, supporting HR administration and working closely with operational colleagues.

Location and working environment

The Street Scene and Grounds Maintenance role is based at the Council's Aylesbury Depot, Monday to Friday, within a busy operational environment.

About you

We are looking for people who are organised, reliable and confident communicators, with a positive approach to supporting colleagues and customers. You do not need to know everything from day one, but you will need to be proactive, willing to learn and comfortable managing a varied workload.

  • Can manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Has good communication skills and attention to detail
  • Is confident working with a range of colleagues and stakeholders
