Danny Sullivan Group is currently recruiting for an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to join the HS2 high-speed rail project in the Aylesbury area.

This is a key supervisory role supporting large-scale earthmoving operations on one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects, helping deliver critical rail links that will transform national connectivity.

• Supervise and coordinate daily earthworks operation
• Oversee plant, ground workers and labour on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme
• Ensure compliance with method statements, risk assessments (RAMS), and ITPs
• Monitor levels, tolerances, and material placement in line with engineering specifications
• Liaise with engineers, site managers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow and productivity
• Manage and brief teams through daily site inductions and toolbox talks
• Ensure all works meet HS2 quality, environmental, and safety standards
• Supervise GPS-controlled plant operations and coordinate with machine operators
• Maintain accurate site records including progress reports, permits, and inspections
• Identify and report any hazards, delays, or non-conformances promptly
• Promote a strong health & safety culture, ensuring compliance with all site rules and procedures

• Valid Gold CSCS Card (Supervisory level)
• SSSTS or SMSTS (essential)
• CPCS/NPORS (Plant tickets – desirable but not essential)
• Safety Critical Medical (required or willingness to undertake)
• Proven experience as an Earthworks Supervisor on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of bulk earthworks, ground stabilisation, and compaction standards
• Experience working on Tier 1 contractor sites or major projects (HS2 experience advantageous)
• Good understanding of GPS machine control and surveying coordination
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and site documentation
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Right to work in the UK
