Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Residential Contractor

Up to £40k DOE

An established and growing SME residential contractor is looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor who already has at least 12 months’ hands-on experience and is looking to develop within a supportive business. You will work alongside experienced commercial professionals across residential projects, gaining exposure to the full commercial lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist with the procurement of subcontractor packages.

* Prepare and issue tender enquiries.

* Analyse and compare subcontractor quotations.

* Assist with subcontractor payments and valuations.

* Monitor project costs and budgets.

* Manage variations and maintain accurate commercial records.

* Support the preparation of monthly cost reports.

* Attend site and commercial meetings.

* Assist with final accounts.

* Liaise with site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.

Requirements

* At least 12 months’ hands-on experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Trainee Quantity Surveyor position.

* Residential construction experience is preferred.

* Relevant degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction.

* A good understanding of subcontractor procurement and payments.

* Strong numerical, organisational and communication skills.

* Commercially aware with excellent attention to detail.

* Confident using Microsoft Excel.

* A full UK driving licence.
