We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and delivery-focused Project Manager to join our Infrastructure and Capital Schemes team and help deliver a diverse range of highways and transport infrastructure projects across Buckinghamshire.
This is an exciting opportunity for a project professional with experience in infrastructure, highways or transport who wants to develop their career within a dynamic and ambitious local authority. You will play a key role in managing projects from initial concept through design, procurement and construction, helping to deliver schemes that improve safety, connectivity and quality of life for residents and businesses across the county.
Working alongside experienced project and programme managers, consultants, contractors and stakeholders, you will contribute to the successful delivery of projects ranging from smaller local improvements through to supporting major infrastructure programmes.

We work closely with residents, businesses, elected Members, delivery partners, statutory bodies and government agencies to deliver infrastructure projects that make a real difference to Buckinghamshire's communities.
About the roleAs a Project Manager
, you will be responsible for managing highways and transport infrastructure projects from inception through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, effectively and in accordance with agreed objectives.
- Managing or supporting the delivery of highways and transport infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.
- Developing detailed project plans, programmes, budgets and resource requirements.
- Supporting project feasibility studies, design development and implementation activities.
- Preparing project reports, updates and briefings for senior officers, elected Members and stakeholders.
- Monitoring project progress and ensuring effective governance, risk management and reporting arrangements are maintained.
- Engaging proactively with local communities, residents, businesses and stakeholders throughout project development and delivery.
- Identifying and managing project risks, issues and dependencies to help ensure successful delivery.
- Supporting procurement activities including preparation of scopes, invitations to tender and evaluation of submissions.
- Assisting with contract administration and maintaining strong working relationships with consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Conducting research and analysis to support project development and informed decision-making.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Council policies, quality standards and health and safety requirements.
- Supporting continuous improvement in project management practices across the service.
This role offers excellent exposure to a broad range of infrastructure projects and provides opportunities to develop project management expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Any-Desk:As an 'any-desk' worker, you'll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
