We have immediate opportunities for Overnight GPs to join our Out of Hours (OOH) team.

Our multidisciplinary OOH team provides primary care services across Buckinghamshire for patients who require medical attention when their own GP surgery is closed. This includes weekday cover from 18:30 to08:00, as well as 24-hour service at weekends and on bank holidays, delivered via telephone consultations,face-to-face appointments and home visits. In addition, we provide in-hours telephone support for ourmember practices Monday to Friday, 08:0018:30.
We welcome applications from experienced GPs who are considering a career move or are seeking additional hours alongside another role.
The overnight GP will cover the period from midnight to 08:00 alongside another GP. The two clinicians willbe based in different parts of the county at Wycombe Hospital and Stoke Mandeville Hospital andwill work jointly within the central advice pool to triage patients. Any base appointments or home visits required will be undertaken by the clinician located at the Primary Care Centre (PCC) closest to the patients address.
Overnight GPs will be working alone; however, they will have a driver with them.
An experienced OOHs GP, previously worked with Fed Bucks and Buckinghamshire is desirable.
To provide timely high quality clinical care, telephone consultations (average 1 every 15 minutes),base appointments (1 every 20 minutes) and home visits (1 an hour, dependant on location).
To monitor the central, advise pool for patients safety.
To provide appropriate care and services to patients in all age ranges and level of health care needs.
To be competent in dealing with face-to-face base consultations, home visits and triage cases overthe phone.
Keep good quality up to date medical records including ensuring appropriate documentation andcoding is used to provide consistent RCGP audit requirements.
To provide clinical advice and support to team members as requested.
To develop and maintain high levels of communication with patients and carers ensuring effective care delivery.
To promote effective communication processes between all team members to enable good working practices.
To maintain communication processes with acute and other colleagues and partners in care toensure care delivery
