SEN Specialist Tutor (English & Maths)
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced SEN Specialist Tutor to deliver bespoke education packages on a 1:1 basis to young people with complex needs who are not currently attending school.
As an SEN Specialist Tutor, you will be responsible for creating, planning, and delivering tailored lessons in English and Maths to bridge gaps in learning and boost engagement and attainment. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher who wants to step away from the traditional classroom setting and provide more personalised, enjoyable lessons.
Many of these pupils will have been out of education for some time and may have low confidence levels.
Your role will be to re-engage them in learning and help restore structure to their daily routine.
Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to monitor pupil progress and support effective learning strategies.
CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
Location - Various locations across Buckinghamshire
Position - SEN Specialist Tutor
Type of work - Contract
Start date - ASAP
Duration / Likely Duration - Dependent on each student
End date (if applicable) - N/A
Contract type - Temporary
Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on availability
Minimum rate of pay - £25 per hour
Hours - Minimum 1 hour per session, maximum 3 hours per session
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
Minimum 6 months' experience working in a UK school
Experience supporting pupils with complex needs
Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year (desirable but not essential)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
