JOB TITLE - GCSE Outreach Tutor (SEN / SEMH)
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated GCSE Outreach Tutor to provide bespoke 1:1 education packages to young people across Buckinghamshire who are currently not accessing mainstream education.
This role involves planning and delivering personalised tuition in core subjects (English, Maths and/or Science) to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs, helping to bridge gaps in learning while rebuilding confidence, engagement and academic progress.
Many of the young people you will support may have experienced disrupted education or long periods out of school. As such, patience, empathy and strong behaviour management skills are essential. You will play a key role in reintroducing structure, routine and a positive learning experience.
This opportunity is ideal for a qualified teacher or an experienced tutor who is looking to move away from the classroom and make a meaningful impact through flexible, individualised teaching. Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to track progress, provide support and ensure effective outcomes for each learner.
CONTRACT / POSITION DETAILS
Location - Various locations across Buckinghamshire
* Position - GCSE Outreach Tutor
* Type of work - Contract
* Start date - ASAP
* Duration / Likely Duration - Ongoing, dependent on each student
* End date (if applicable) - N/A
* Contract type - Temporary
* Full time / part time - Part time
* Minimum rate of pay - From £25 per hour
* Hours - 10 to 15 hours per week, typically 1-3 hour sessions
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS/PGCE) preferred
* Proven experience working with SEN and/or SEMH pupils
* Experience delivering GCSE-level core subjects
* Up-to-date safeguarding training (desirable but not essential)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for one
* Provide two professional, child-related references covering the last two years OTHER
