Family Learning Sessional Tutor (Early Years & Schools)

Location:

Buckinghamshire County Wide

The service is principally funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and we are subject to inspection by OFSTED.

About us

Family Learning works with parents and carers to give them the confidence and knowledge to support their children's learning. We work with parents and children from 12 months to 15 years in Early Years settings, Family Centres, schools, and community venues. We run courses both for the parents on their own or intergenerational where their children attend.

About the role

We are looking for tutors to work with parents and their children in intergenerational sessions in High Wycombe, Aylesbury and Chesham schools, delivering workshops to parents and their primary age child together. We are particularly looking for someone who could work with schools in the High Wycombe & Chesham area.

We are looking for tutors who would be interested in running face to face 2-hour workshops in schools across the county in areas such as cookery, craft, practical maths and English, to support parents starting on a journey to develop skills and confidence in supporting their child.

We also offer Early Years courses and workshops focusing on early reading, language development, and healthy active lifestyles. We focus on encouraging parents to interact with their children, giving them practical ways to support early development and the foundations to be ready for nursery and school. 2-hour sessions take place during mornings and afternoons, mainly in term time. This would include working with parents and children between 12 months and 5 years

We also deliver curriculum and well-being courses online and would be interested in a teacher who could deliver online sessions, we teach using Google Meet and Google Classroom.

About you

Do you have experience of working in Early Years/Primary? Are you enthusiastic about helping parents support their children’s learning?

Do you have knowledge and skills in any of the course subjects we offer?

Do you have an adult teaching qualification or are you a qualified Early Years practitioner or School teacher? Do you have cookery qualifications and experience of working with intergenerational groups?

Do you wish to work flexibly from two hours per week, we are looking for people who could teach on average 4-6 hours per week?
