Learning Support Mentor

Role

This position can be full (32.5 hours) or part time. Please specify in your application what arrangement would suit you. Start date is flexible, but ideally June 2026.

• Provide support to young people working alongside learning mentors.
• Engage, encourage and inspire learners to be themselves.
• Develop learners’ abilities, creativity and self‑esteem.

• Degree or equivalent qualification – desirable.
• Experience working with SEND and SEMH young people – essential.

• Ability to relate well to children and adults – essential.
• Dedicated – essential.
• Discretion and confidentiality – essential.

Safeguarding policies may be available at Trust level or be held by each Centre individually. All Safeguarding related policies and procedures are available on our website. Every Centre will ensure all staff complete training to understand good practice and how to safeguard our learners and ourselves.

Due to the role involving engaging in regulated activity with young people, it is an offence to apply for the role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. Safeguarding is Red Balloon Educational Trust's priority. No member of staff will have access to work with learners until all required training has been completed.
