SEN Teacher - Primary Special School

Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Term Time Only
Salary: 150- 190 per day

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and highly motivated SEN Teacher to join our vibrant Primary Special School. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children with complex learning needs and disabilities.

Our pupils are aged 4-11 and have a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including:

  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Physical disabilities and complex medical needs
  • Sensory processing difficulties
  • Social, emotional and behavioural needs associated with their learning difficulties
The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, Therapists, Families and Multi-Agency Professionals.
  • Develop and implement individual learning programmes and EHCP outcomes.
  • Use a range of communication approaches, including Makaton, PECS, visual supports and assistive technology where appropriate.
  • Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress, however small.
  • Support pupils' communication, independence, social skills and emotional wellbeing.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Has experience working with children with SEND, particularly within a specialist or inclusive setting.
  • Demonstrates patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is committed to achieving the very best outcomes for children with complex needs.
  • Has a creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning.
