Examinations Officer - The Aylesbury Vale Academy

The Examinations Officer role is 37 hours per week, 41 weeks per year with the salary reflecting this working pattern.

We are looking for a highly organised multi-tasker with excellent communications skills and is an excellent team player.

Salary type: Bucks Pay

Salary Details: Bucks Pay Range 6 Point 31 (£37,772) to Point 35 (£41,272) FTE

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time

About us

The Examinations Officer is accountable to their line manager in all matters. They must maintain the qualifications, skills and competencies required to fulfil the post to the highest level of professionalism and competence.

An outline of some of the duties and responsibilities are below, and further details can be found in the job description:

  • Maintain effective communication with Exam Board personnel, school staff, students and parents/carers ensuring that all queries and appeals are dealt with effectively meeting required deadlines.
  • Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of examination entry requirements and across arrangements criteria.
  • To work closely with the SENDCO to ensure that applications to examination boards are made for all students who are entitled to have access arrangements.
  • The Examinations Officer will identify the students and process the applications and the SENDCO will ensure that all relevant documentation is maintained and accessible in anticipation of an inspection.
  • Publish and distribute exam timetables, procedures and exam board information, including the resolution of clashes.
  • Prepare and distribute exam timetables for Mock examinations, including the resolution of clashes.
About you

The candidate should ideally, have some experience of working in a school environment in a related role, although training will be provided.

Experience in using Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.

Candidates must have a GCSE in English and Maths or an equivalent qualification.
