SEN Teaching Assistant – Aylesbury

Full-Time | Term Time Only

Monday – Friday 8:30–3:30pm

We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEN school in Aylesbury supporting children with complex learning needs, including PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).

This role is perfect for someone who is patient, energetic and genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs. The school provides a supportive, nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to grow in confidence, independence and communication.

Ideal backgrounds
  • Care Workers / Support Workers
  • Residential Care Staff
  • Healthcare Assistants
  • Youth Workers
  • SEN Teaching Assistants
  • Anyone with experience supporting children or adults with additional needs
  • Experience with PMLD or complex needs is particularly beneficial, but the most important quality is a genuine passion for helping children succeed
Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with complex SEN needs both in and out of the classroom
  • Helping children with communication, engagement and learning activities
  • Providing personal care where required
  • Encouraging independence and confidence
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Working closely with teachers and other support staff to provide the best possible care and learning environment
