Our client is looking for an engaging and supportive tutor to help young people aged 15–25 develop their English, maths, employability and independent-living skills.
Many learners have SEND or social, emotional and mental health needs and may not have had a positive experience of traditional education. You will create practical and accessible learning sessions that build their skills, confidence and readiness for adult life.
This opportunity could suit a veteran with experience in military instruction, training, coaching, mentoring or personnel development. Applications are welcomed from people whose relevant experience has been gained outside a conventional classroom.
Key responsibilities- Deliver engaging English, maths, employability and personal-development sessions.
- Adapt your approach to learners with different abilities and additional needs.
- Help learners develop confidence, resilience, communication and workplace skills.
- Plan sessions, monitor progress and maintain accurate records.
- Work with colleagues to support each learner’s development and progression.
- Experience instructing, teaching, training, coaching or mentoring others.
- The ability to engage and motivate young people.
- A patient, flexible and supportive approach.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Confidence using everyday digital systems.
- A full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and willingness to travel between centres when required.
Experience supporting people with additional needs or delivering English, maths, employability or life-skills training would be beneficial, but applications from candidates with transferable military experience are encouraged.

This position involves working with young people and is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and the appropriate safeguarding checks.
Confidence using Microsoft 365 and digital learning systems.
GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent.
A full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and willingness to travel between the organisation’s Buckinghamshire centres when required.
Desirable experience- Teaching personal development, employability, life skills or workplace skills.
- Working within alternative provision, further education or SEND settings.
- Understanding EHCP outcomes and annual review processes.
- Delivering practical or project-based learning.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches to education.
- 20 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
