About the Role in Aylesbury
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide classroom, 1:1 and small-group support to pupils who require additional structure, encouragement and tailored assistance. You will help students access learning, develop independence and manage their emotional and communication needs.
Key Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant in Aylesbury
Provide consistent 1:1 and classroom support for pupils with ASD and additional needs
Work confidently with non-verbal pupils and children with complex needs
Support learning, communication, behaviour and emotional regulation
Assist teachers with delivering accessible and engaging activities
Follow individual support plans and tailored interventions
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment
Monitor pupils' progress and contribute to their wider development
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is essential
Proven experience providing 1:1 support
Experience supporting pupils with ASD, complex needs and/or communication difficulties
A calm, nurturing and patient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to remain consistent when supporting challenging behaviour
Reliable, proactive and committed
