You will play an important role in helping pupils feel confident, supported and included within the classroom. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. Previous experience supporting children with SEN and working with pupils on a 1:1 basis is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities - SEN Teaching Assistant, Aylesbury Provide classroom and 1:1 support to pupils with ASD and other additional educational needs. Work closely with teachers to support pupils with their learning and development. Assist with classroom activities and prepare engaging learning resources. Encourage pupils to participate in lessons and develop their confidence and independence. Build positive, trusting and supportive relationships with pupils.
Provide emotional and pastoral support throughout the school day. Help maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive classroom environment. Support pupils with managing their behaviour and emotions when required.
The Ideal Candidate for an SEN Teaching Assistant in Aylesbury Caring, patient and nurturing, with a genuine interest in supporting children. Experienced in working with children with SEN/additional needs. Confident providing 1:1 support to pupils. Reliable, responsible and able to remain calm in challenging situations. A strong communicator who works well with teachers and other members of staff. Proactive and willing to adapt their approach to meet individual pupils' needs.
