Job overviewThe Lead Medical Education Fellow post is a unique and exciting opportunity which combines an educational role aimed at developing undergraduate and postgraduate education in Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT). This post is due to commence from February 2027 and is primarily based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. The main responsibility of the post holder is to manage and mentor the Education Fellow team (up to 10 Resident doctors) who support the delivery of the Trust’s high quality medical education including the development, delivery and evaluation of courses in undergraduate (Oxford University, St George’s and University of Buckingham) and postgraduate medical education.
The post holder would work with the Director of Medical Education, the Undergraduate Director of Medical Education to Lead the Education Fellow cohort, and Undergraduate and Postgraduate Faculty to develop teaching or Medical Education experience is required for this role.
All applicants MUST be Fully GMC Registered with a Licence to Practice in the UK.
Main duties of the jobLead Education Fellow Management Roles- Work closely with the Medical Education Administration team and Simulation team to coordinate Education Fellow teaching activities
- Chair weekly meetings for the education team
- Provide educational supervision for the Education Fellow team
- Support Education Fellows with their medical education CPD
- Support Education Fellows with education project development and delivery
- Promote and support medical education research
- Develop the Education Fellow Programme with support of senior management team
- Participate in the development, coordination, delivery and evaluation of undergraduate and foundation courses and assessment
- Help organise and deliver undergraduate and foundation induction
- Deliver yearly away days for the undergraduate and postgraduate faculty
- Represent Education Fellows at university and trust meetings
- Provide quarterly reports of Education Fellow progress
- Lead for Assistantship block
