Principal Antenna Engineer and Capability Lead

Location: Buckinghamshire

Our client, a leading company in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Antenna Engineer and Capability Lead to join their Business.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and test innovative antenna and RF product solutions, considering emerging technologies
Conduct electromagnetic simulations and analysis to optimise antenna performance
Support the development of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and analysis software
Analyse, review, and substantiate requirements with customers
Drive the test, characterisation, and verification of prototype and product designs, ensuring qualification and requirements compliance
Represent the team and business unit in customer and internal stakeholder interactions
Manage bids, develop concept designs, and generate technical proposals to drive new business
Create and maintain project plans, providing status updates for stakeholders
Set clear objectives and provide support and mentorship to the Antenna Design Team

Job Requirements:

Degree in a relevant Engineering field
Experience in leading and managing high-performance teams with senior stakeholder interaction
Strong theoretical and practical RF design experience
Proficiency in RF principles, transmission line theory, and antenna theory
Expertise in using electromagnetic simulation software (e.g., CST MWS, FEKO, HFSS)

Experience with RF test and measurement equipment such as Vector Network Analysers and Spectrum Analysers
Significant experience in antenna design and knowledge of active/passive RF and microwave circuit design

Experience with antenna test ranges/anechoic chambers
Design for Manufacture and Assembly experience is desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills
Proficiency in MS Office and PC skills
