Our client, a leading company in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Antenna Engineer and Capability Lead to join their Business.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and test innovative antenna and RF product solutions, considering emerging technologies
- Conduct electromagnetic simulations and analysis to optimise antenna performance
- Support the development of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and analysis software
- Analyse, review, and substantiate requirements with customers
- Drive the test, characterisation, and verification of prototype and product designs, ensuring qualification and requirements compliance
- Represent the team and business unit in customer and internal stakeholder interactions
- Manage bids, develop concept designs, and generate technical proposals to drive new business
- Create and maintain project plans, providing status updates for stakeholders
- Set clear objectives and provide support and mentorship to the Antenna Design Team
- Degree in a relevant Engineering field
- Experience in leading and managing high-performance teams with senior stakeholder interaction
- Strong theoretical and practical RF design experience
- Proficiency in RF principles, transmission line theory, and antenna theory
- Expertise in using electromagnetic simulation software (e.g., CST MWS, FEKO, HFSS)
- Experience with RF test and measurement equipment such as Vector Network Analysers and Spectrum Analysers
- Significant experience in antenna design and knowledge of active/passive RF and microwave circuit design
- Experience with antenna test ranges/anechoic chambers
- Design for Manufacture and Assembly experience is desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and PC skills
