PROJECT ENGINEER

Aylesbury | Competitive Salary + Bonus + Lodging

NEOS Engineering are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join an established engineering contractor working on the major HS2 project in Aylesbury.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer / Civil Engineer with a strong background in earthworks or major infrastructure to take ownership of complex engineering projects and play a key role in their successful delivery.

THE ROLE

As Project Engineer, you'll act as a key technical authority on the project, providing engineering guidance and oversight across the full project lifecycle - from initial planning and design through to execution and completion.

You'll work closely with clients, subcontractors, commercial, planning and HSEQ teams
, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Take ownership of project objectives across safety, quality, programme and commercial performance
    .
  • Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from planning and design through to execution and completion.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders
    .
  • Act as a key point of contact, resolving issues and supporting effective project delivery.
  • Coordinate closely with commercial, planning and HSEQ teams to ensure integrated project planning.
  • Support accurate forecasting and proactive risk management.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the project team, driving high standards of performance.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, risks and opportunities to senior management.
  • Implement corrective actions where required to protect project delivery targets.
  • Ensure all works comply with contractual obligations, industry standards and relevant regulations.
  • Support a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement across the project.
  • Mentor and support team members, contributing to development and succession planning.
ABOUT YOU
  • Extensive experience within earthworks, civil engineering or major infrastructure
    .
  • A proven track record of delivering complex projects to high standards of quality and safety.
  • Strong technical knowledge across core civil engineering disciplines.
  • Experience working within demanding construction environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong project management and commercial awareness.
  • The ability to make sound technical decisions and resolve issues proactively.
  • Chartered status with ICE or actively working towards Chartered status
    .
  • A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
