Are you a proactive Pharmacy Technician looking to develop into a leadership role? We are offering a fantastic Band 5 to Band 6 progression opportunity to become our next Dispensary Manager.

Starting at Band 5, you will receive tailored support, training, and mentorship as you work through a structured development pathway designed to prepare you for a Band 6 role. Once you have successfully completed the required competencies and training – typically within 12 months – you will step into the full Band 6 Dispensary Manager position.

Main

duties of the job

Assists the Team Leader for dispensary services with the planning, development, monitoring, audit, evaluation, and delivery of the dispensary service across the Trust. Ensure that working practices meet requirements of medicines legislation, professional, local, and national guidelines and implement changes, thereby ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive, high-quality service.

Contribute to the strategic plan for dispensary operations including change management projects and adopting new models of working including with EPMA systems.

Provide professional leadership and management in all aspects of dispensary services for all staff members who work within the dispensary environment. This includes pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pre‑registration trainee pharmacy technicians, trainee pharmacists and support workers.

Ensure that appropriate training is provided for all staff working in the dispensary and training records are maintained and available when required.

Assist with stock management and financial control of costs within the dispensary service, including maintaining appropriate and efficient staffing levels, and reducing waste through the avoidable expiration of medicine and use of resources.

Assist the Team Leader for dispensary services to manage the day to day running of the dispensary service and rotas.

Deputise for the Team Leader for dispensary services, providing technical leadership.
