To work as part of the Newborn Hearing Screening team, screening all babies as early as possible either in hospital or as an outpatient.
To liaise with the Newborn Hearing Screening Local Manager, parents and other professionals in order to provide a seamless service.
To collate and accurately record test data both manually and electronically.

Person Specification Education, Qualifications & Training Essential- Good general standard of education. Minimum GCSE level A*- C in English and Maths plus 3 other subjects or equivalent
- Willing to undertake the level 3 Diploma in Health Screening where applicable
- Knowledge of the Auditory System
- Previous experience of working with babies.
- Experience of providing person centred care.
- Working with people in a caring setting
- Competent IT skills with knowledge of word, excel and sound use of using the internet and web pages
- Able to work as an effective member team member
- Excellent in English written/verbal communication with patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team
- Able to work carefully and accurately
- Willing to adhere to protocols and guidelines
- Awareness of own limitation
- Knowledge of hearing issues in children
- Aware of barriers to communication
- Knowledge of the current legislation and national guidance relating to the new born hearing screening programme
- Understanding of the safeguarding processes and child protection procedures
- An understanding of the importance of patient confidentiality and privacy
- Demonstrates a caring, empathetic and compassionate approach to patient's and colleagues, whilst having a professional approach.
- An appreciation of equality, diversity and inclusion and how this may influence how care is provided.
- A flexible and adaptable approach with the aptitude to work in a busy hospital healthcare setting.
- Flexibility in work pattern
- Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the Auditory system
- Able to work to a rota including weekends and bank holidays.
- Ability to travel to outpatient clinics.
