Job overview

We are looking for a Domestic Cleaner to join our team at The Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury to provide a safe and clean environment for patients and staff across our non ward areas.

The Whiteleaf Centre is a mental health facility providing inpatient and community care in a modern and welcoming environment. The centre incorporates four inpatient wards, day hospital facilities, and a range of outpatient treatment and therapies.

This is a part time role where you working 18.75 hours over 3 days working 6am - 12.35pm.

We're looking for team players who are flexible and reliable, with good interpersonal and communication skills. You'll be a key part of improving our patient experience by providing a high-quality housekeeping service ensuring a clean and safe environment for all. You'll also be carrying out terminal and enhanced cleaning.

Ideally, you'll have a
Level 2 Food Hygiene Qualification
however we can provide training required for all aspects of this role so please do consider applying, even if you don't have a lot of experience in this area.

Main duties of the job
  • To carry out daily cleaning routines as specified in the line with the national cleaning standards.

  • To carry out cleaning tasks as per schedule.

  • To handle and remove waste in line with segregation processes and procedures

  • To follow Health & Safety regulations.

  • To provide cover for colleagues during absences.

  • To ensure cleaning trolleys are fully stocked with sufficient cleaning materials, equipment to clean each area.

  • To ensure all cleaning materials are used as directed and secured securely and safely in compliance with COSHH regulations.

  • Observes correct procedures upon entering patient areas

  • To ensure that all equipment used is fit for purpose and report any damaged or out of date PAT tested machinery to head porter.

  • To ensure correct procedures are followed when cleaning in outpatient areas

  • Adheres to all policies and procedures relevant to the role

  • To ensure that all mandatory training and task specific training is attended as required for the role

  • To be aware of local health & Safety procedures including fire evacuation procedures.

  • All personal accidents or injuries to be reported and recorded by following the correct process.

  • Follows safety and security policies and procedures
