Are you passionate about driving excellence in adult education? Buckinghamshire Adult Learning is looking for an experienced and inspiring Quality Manager to lead our Quality, Additional Learning Support and Operations functions. This is a pivotal role within our senior management team, shaping the learning experience for thousands of adults across the county.

You’ll champion high standards, foster continuous improvement, and help us move confidently towards our ambition of becoming an outstanding provider.

If you’re committed to improving learner outcomes and have a strong track record in quality assurance within FE or ACL, we’d love to hear from you.

About us

Buckinghamshire Council is a relatively new organisation that combines the strengths and expertise of the previous five councils in the county to create positive change for local people, communities, and businesses. We are firmly focused on the future and have made a clear commitment to serve residents better and to provide stronger representation for Buckinghamshire, both locally and nationally.

We are looking for motivated, ambitious and inspiring people to join us on our journey. You will be entitled to a range of different benefits to make sure you are happy both at work and at home.

About the role

As our Quality Manager, you will be the service’s lead expert on quality, compliance and continuous improvement. You’ll oversee the full annual quality cycle, manage Ofsted readiness and improvement planning, lead Matrix inspections, and ensure robust Internal Quality Assurance across all curriculum areas. You’ll work closely with senior managers to enhance teaching, learning and assessment, support staff development, lead learning walks and OTLAs, and ensure that quality processes are well understood and consistently applied.

You will also manage the Quality and Additional Learning Support teams, and ensure learner feedback is used meaningfully to enhance the service. This is a role with significant impact, offering the chance to drive genuine improvement and help us work towards becoming an outstanding provider.

About you

You’ll be a confident, collaborative and forward-thinking professional with a strong understanding of quality improvement in FE or adult learning. You bring experience of supporting or leading Ofsted activity, a solid grasp of IQA practice (including RARPA), and a proven ability to embed and monitor effective quality systems.

With a teaching qualification and experience in post‑16 education, you’ll be comfortable guiding and supporting colleagues at all levels. You’re highly organised, skilled at balancing a varied workload, and able to communicate clearly and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.
