Category Manager - Frozen​/Fresh Meat, Poultry and Fish

Category Planning & Development Support Assist the Chief Category Manager in planning product assortments, pricing strategies, and seasonal promotions for the frozen and fresh meat, poultry, and fish categories. Participate in category review meetings, providing insights from data analysis and customer feedback to support strategic decisions. Help implement category plans, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Market Analysis & Customer Insights Analyse sales data, customer preferences, and market trends to identify growth opportunities and potential areas for improvement. Conduct competitor analysis to understand pricing, product positioning, and promotional activities in the market. Collect and interpret customer feedback to better understand purchasing behaviour and improve product assortment. Supplier & Vendor Coordination Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, working closely with them to ensure product availability, quality, and competitive pricing.

Assist in negotiating terms, pricing, and promotional support with suppliers to maximise profitability. Monitor vendor performance and address any supply issues, collaborating with suppliers to meet category goals. Inventory & Stock Management Monitor stock levels for frozen and fresh meat, poultry, and fish categories, supporting inventory accuracy and minimising waste. Coordinate with the supply chain team to manage inventory flow, plan seasonal adjustments, and maintain optimal stock levels.

Conduct regular stock checks, ensuring compliance with product quality and freshness standards. Merchandising & Promotions Assist in planning and executing in-store displays and promotional activities to enhance product visibility and drive sales. Work with the merchandising team to create appealing displays that highlight key products, seasonal items, and promotional deals. Track and evaluate the effectiveness of promotions, adjusting tactics as needed to improve results.

Financial Analysis & Reporting Track category performance metrics, including sales, margin, and stock turnover, preparing reports for the Chief Category Manager. Conduct basic financial analysis to understand product profitability and cost efficiency within the category. Provide summaries and insights for regular business reviews, helping identify opportunities for category growth. Learning & Development Participate in training sessions on category management, data analysis, and supplier negotiations to build relevant skills.

Stay updated on industry trends, market developments, and competitor activity within the frozen and fresh meat, poultry, and fish categories. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to special projects to deepen understanding of category management. Any other duties as required by the organisation
