Whether it’s due to homelessness or poor mental health, the number of people experiencing a crisis is on the rise. Connection Support believes in a future where people are free from crisis. But for the times when crises do happen, we’ll be there to help every step of the way.

We are currently recruiting a Support Worker to join our team within our short-term accommodation service in Aylesbury.

The impact you will have

Working as part of a team you will support young people (16-25) and adults who are housed in our short-term supported accommodation service to access services and resources that will allow them to move onto sustainable independent accommodation.

You will provide support to access housing options, benefits, tenancy related information, paid employment, training, food banks, mental health, substance misuse services, or any other relevant resources that will enable your clients to live independently. In addition, you will support with developing life skills such as budgeting, paying bills, shopping and meal planning

You will also encourage connecting and building appropriate networks within the local community, and, where possible, re-establish and reconnect with family and friends.

Contract Details

Contract: Permanent, fulltime.

Hours: 10.00am - 22.00pm, 4 days on 4 days off. Role includes working weekends, and bank holidays.

Salary: £27,418 to £28,541 per annum, pro rata, dependent on experience.

Closing date: Wednesday 19th August

Interview Dates: Week commencing 24th August

About you.

You will need to have experience of supporting vulnerable adults or young people who are either homeless or at risk with issues such as mental health, substance misuse, or offending. Ideally, you will have a good understanding of the housing and benefits system. You have a strong resilience to not give up and can work creatively to find solutions.

You’re an excellent communicator who understands that each person is different, so a flexible individualised approach is what’s needed to motivate and encourage people.

Above all, you have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling, and are passionate about our mission, vision and values.
