We are seeking a Qualified Social Worker to join a dedicated team in Aylesbury, supporting Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) and young people who require care, protection and specialist support.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and committed social worker to make a meaningful difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard, their rights are upheld and they receive the support they need to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:As a Qualified Social Worker, you will be responsible for delivering targeted and specialist social work services to children and young people in need of support, protection and care.
You will undertake statutory assessments, develop and review care and pathway plans, work closely with children and young people to understand their lived experiences, and collaborate with parents, carers and multi-agency professionals.
You will:
- Undertake statutory social work assessments in line with local thresholds, identifying children and young people's needs, risks and circumstances.
- Promote the safety, wellbeing and best interests of children and young people at all times.
- Champion children's rights, entitlements and opportunities to improve their life chances and outcomes.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people through effective direct work, ensuring their views, wishes and feelings are understood and reflected in planning.
- Work collaboratively with parents and carers using a strengths-based and relationship-focused approach.
- Work effectively with multi-disciplinary professionals and partner agencies to ensure coordinated support.
- Develop appropriate support, protection, care and pathway plans based on assessed needs and circumstances.
