As a Process Technician, you will coordinate and carry out operational activities to ensure the plant runs safely, efficiently and in full compliance with environmental standards.
- Operate plant systems safely and efficiently on a rotating shift basis.
- Monitor and control waste handling, boilers and furnace systems, steam turbine generators, ash handling, water treatment, conveyors and filtration systems.
- Use and interrogate complex DCS and/or SCADA systems.
- Diagnose and rectify process and equipment faults.
- Complete detailed operational logs and accurate shift handovers.
- Perform routine plant testing and manage safe shutdowns when required.
- Support operational improvements and workplace investigations.
- Act as a Competent and Authorised Person for plant isolations.
- Support site health, safety and environmental compliance, including inspections and emergency response duties.
You’re technically strong, safety‑focused and calm under pressure, enjoy problem‑solving and don’t cut corners.
- A solid technical background in plant operations or maintenance.
- Experience using DCS and/or SCADA systems.
- Hands‑on experience with large boilers, rotating equipment or similar process plant.
- Strong understanding of operational procedures and safe systems of work.
- Ability to carry out front‑line maintenance.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a technical/science discipline (preferred).
- IOSH Managing Safely (or willingness to complete).
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, CMMS systems etc.).
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently.
- Flexibility to work shifts and adapt to operational demands.
