Warehouse Operations Manager
Location: Ayelsford, Kent
Salary: £60,000 - £68,000 + package
Loom Talent is partnering with a national 3PL and fulfilment business to appoint an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to take ownership of day-to-day operational performance within a busy logistics environment.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the operation. Someone who can look at a set of KPIs, understand what is driving performance, identify where things need to change and then take the team with them.
It's a great opportunity for an established Operations Manager who is ready for a role with greater responsibility, visibility and influence.
What will you be doing?Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and developing operational managers and warehouse teams.
- Taking ownership of daily warehouse performance, service levels and productivity.
- Setting clear expectations around operational KPIs and holding teams accountable for delivery.
- Analysing performance data to identify trends, issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Driving improvements across productivity, labour utilisation, processes and service.
- Ensuring effective resource and labour planning across the operation.
- Working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure service expectations are consistently achieved.
- Identifying operational issues quickly and implementing practical, sustainable solutions.
- Supporting the implementation and optimisation of WMS and operational processes.
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety, compliance and operational discipline.
- Building a positive, engaged and performance-focused culture.
- Developing future leaders and creating a strong internal talent pipeline.
- Working collaboratively with HR, transport, engineering, IT and other support functions.
- Supporting wider operational projects and initiatives as the business continues to develop.
We're looking for an experienced manager who understands the pressures and complexity of delivering outstanding service in a fast-moving logistics environment.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience leading a sizeable warehouse or logistics operation.
- A strong background within 3PL, contract logistics or fulfilment.
- Experience managing operational managers and large warehouse teams.
- A strong understanding of warehouse KPIs, productivity and labour performance.
- A track record of delivering measurable operational improvements.
- Experience working in a customer-focused environment with demanding service levels.
- Good knowledge of WMS, inventory and warehouse processes.
- Strong people leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A data-driven approach to operational decision making.
- A hands‑on and visible leadership style.
