Teaching Assistant

About the role:

justteachers is delighted to be working in partnership with a friendly and supportive school in Aylsham to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position with an immediate start. The school can also accommodate candidates who are available from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate individual who is committed to supporting pupils in their learning and development within a nurturing and inclusive school environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide high‑quality classroom support, helping to create a positive and engaging learning experience for all pupils.

• Classroom Support — Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
• Student Development — Support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the school day
• Small Group & 1:1 Support — Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning
• Behaviour Management — Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm and purposeful learning environment
• Inclusive Practice — Adapt support to meet the varying needs of pupils
• Resource Preparation — Assist with preparing classroom materials and learning resources
• Collaborative Working — Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and leadership teams
• Safeguarding Commitment — Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote pupil welfare at all times
• Parent Communication — Support positive relationships with parents and carers where appropriate

• Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting
• A positive, patient, and proactive attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs is desirable but not essential
• Two recent, relevant references
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
