Newspaper Proofreader

Do you share our passion for writing? Do you have excellent standards of written English and an eye for accuracy?

We are looking for a proofreader, who is a capable communicator with a disciplined and consistent approach, to proofread The Orcadian newspaper.

You must be experienced at correcting spelling, grammar and punctuation errors and be able to verify the factual correctness of information, such as dates. The ideal candidate will be able to interpret and ensure adherence to the house style, work to deadline, and have an interest in and knowledge of Orkney culture, geography and history.

• 14 hours per week (Mondays and Tuesdays).
• 14 days’ annual leave.
